The Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany has become the world's largest and most important book trading center, a grand event for the global book industry, and is hailed as a "world cultural barometer" and the "Olympics of world publishers." Organized by the German Publishers Association in 1949, the Frankfurt Book Fair is an international book exhibition extravaganza. Its mission is to "allow publishers from all over the world to exhibit any book."
As the world's largest publishing industry trade fair, the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany wields immense influence in the global book publishing culture and serves as a crucial platform for publishing institutions from around the world to showcase their publishing and innovation achievements and enhance industry communication and exchange. According to official data from the Frankfurt Book Fair, the number of Chinese publishing institutions participating this year is the highest in nearly five years. Chinese exhibitors displayed a dazzling array of distinctive books and publications, and held special events focusing on Sino-foreign cultural exchange and mutual learning, copyright trade, cultural dissemination, and opportunities for technological development.
China International Book Trading Corporation (CITIC) is the only Chinese exhibitor to have participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair 50 times. Recently, it held a celebration to commemorate its 50th anniversary of participation. Lu Cairong, Vice President of China International Communication Group, stated that international book fairs like the Frankfurt Book Fair serve as a special "medium," providing a platform for cultural exchange and mutual learning among nations, effectively contributing to the "going global" of Chinese culture.
Nearly 100 Chinese publishing houses participated in the exhibition, showcasing over 5,000 high-quality books and publications, and hosting more than ten engaging events that integrated Chinese and foreign civilizations and promoted exchange and mutual learning, becoming a highlight of the book fair.
